Q. What does a General Entry Ticket include?
A. A General Entry Ticket (required for ages 4 years and upwards) includes access to Greenwich Winter Time Festival for an allotted session of 3 hours (Morning, Afternoon or Evening). You receive access to an array of fantastic entertainment for all ages, including a spectacular ice show, the fully-programmed Mirror Stage (full line up coming in September), a troupe of performers and street entertainers to surprise and delight at every turn, a Winter Lifestyle Market showcasing the best of independent designers and brands, artisan food and drink offerings and a festive art exhibition, all set in the historic grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, on the banks of the River Thames.
All visitors (including children aged 3 and under) require an additional ticket for the bespoke, covered Ice Rink and the Visit Father Christmas show. These can be purchased at the same time as General Entry Tickets.
When will the tickets be sent out?
All purchased tickets will be sent as an e-ticket containing a unique barcode, unless purchased on site.
What do I need to bring on the day?
Tickets may be printed or shown on a mobile device upon entry.
Can my tickets be refunded if I am unable to attend on the day?
Authorised ticket agents are unable to exchange or refund Greenwich Winter Time tickets once purchased. Please make sure you have chosen the correct date and time slot at the time of booking.
Do we still need to order a ticket for our children aged under 4 years old even though they’re free of charge?
Children aged 3 years old and under do not require a General Entry Ticket. They will require tickets to the additional entertainment including the Ice Rink and Visit Father Christmas.
Will we be able to purchase tickets on the gate?
We cannot guarantee tickets will be available to purchase at the box offices on site, as this is subject to availability. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance to secure preferred time slots.
What does the Ice Rink Ticket include?
This ticket includes a up to 30 minutes of skating time on the bespoke, covered Ice Rink. Skate hire is included in the ticket price.
My child is under 4 years old, and doesn’t need a General Entry Ticket. Do they require a ticket for the Ice Rink?
Yes, everyone requires a ticket for the Ice Rink. Ages 3 years and under only require a Child Ice Rink ticket; Ages 4 – 16 years require a Child General Entry and a Child Ice Rink ticket. Ages 17 years and up require an Adult General Entry and an Adult Ice Rink ticket.
Will Ice Skates be provided?
Yes, skate hire is included in the ticket price. A variety of sizes will be available at the Skate Hire on site.
How long will we have on the ice?
You will have up to 30 minutes of skating time on the ice. We recommend arriving at the Skate Hire around 20 minutes before your allotted start time, to allow you maximum time on the ice.
Is the Ice Rink covered?
Yes, the Ice Rink will be covered so you can skate in any weather!
How early should I arrive before the beginning of my session?
We recommend arriving around 20 minutes prior to your allotted start time to allow time to get your skates on and to give you maximum time on the ice.
Will there be a priority entrance to/exit from the event for Ice Rink customers?
A priority entrance gate will be available on entry to the event for skaters to allow them to get to the rink in good time. Those skating at the end of each session (Morning, Afternoon & Evening) may be directed to leave via a separate exit.
What does the Father Christmas Ticket include?
The Father Christmas ticket includes entry to a captivating and unique theatrical performance at Father Christmas’ Launch Pad. The performance will last approximately 15 minutes and will be a magical and mesmerising audience with Father Christmas. In the spirit of Christmas, each session is a shared experience by a group of children (maximum 40) and not a one-on-one meeting. All visitors will receive a small gift and the opportunity to take part in a group photo at the end of the performance. Father Christmas has lots of children to see so there will not be an opportunity for a one-on-one photo.
Which age group is it suitable for?
The Father Christmas show is suitable for children up to 10 years old.
Will I need a ticket to accompany my child to the show?
You do not require a ticket to accompany your child to the show.
My child is under 4 years old, and doesn’t need a General Entry Ticket. Do they require a ticket for the Father Christmas show?
Yes, all children require a ticket to the Father Christmas show. Children aged 3 years old and under require a Child Visit Father Christmas ticket, but do not require a General Entry Ticket.
Will it be a one on one meeting with Father Christmas?
The show is a captivating and unique theatrical performance at Father Christmas’ Launch Pad. In the spirit of Christmas, each session is a shared experience by a group of children (maximum 40) and not a one-on-one meeting.
Will there be an opportunity for a one on one photo with Father Christmas?
All visitors will receive a small gift and the opportunity to take part in a group photo at the end of the performance. Father Christmas has lots of children to see so there will not be an opportunity for a one-on-one photo
When we will know the entertainment schedule?
The entertainment schedule will be released in September.
What are the timings and running order?
This information will be released in the run up to the event.
GETTING TO GREENWICH WINTER TIME
How do I get to the Old Royal Naval College?
The Old Royal Naval College is a few minutes’ walk from Cutty Sark DLR station and Greenwich Pier (for Thames Clipper Boats). You can see a full list of travel options here.

Is there parking available at the festival?
Unfortunately, there is no parking available next to the festival site, but information about a ‘Park & Ride’ system with Thames Clippers will be on our website shortly.
SECURITY & PUBLIC SAFETY
Will there be security at the festival?
Public safety is the top priority for us and security will be in place over the weekend. Please expect bag searches and security at the entrance gates, and make sure to leave extra time for entry.
ENJOYING THE FESTIVAL
Can I bring food and drink into the event?
No food & drink (except plastic 500ml bottles containing water or soft drinks and baby food (when not in glass containers)) is permitted to be brought into the event. Please note, if prohibited items are brought with you, you will be asked to discard of such items at the entry gates by the security team.
Will there be food and drink available to purchase on site?
A variety of food & drink options will be available to purchase on site. When purchasing alcohol at the event, you may be asked for proof of age.
I will be bringing my baby to Greenwich Winter Time and the food on offer will not be suitable, what do I do?
Baby food (when not in glass containers) is permitted to be brought into the event.
Will there be any covered areas if it rains?
Yes, there are some covered areas on the site, including the Ice Rink, the Mirror Stage, the Father Christmas Launch Pad and a central seating area near the catering outlets.
Can I bring my dog to Greenwich Winter Time Festival?
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed anywhere on site apart from assistance/guide dogs. This is a condition of our Public Entertainment Licence.
Will I be able to re-enter the site if I leave?
There is no re-entry once you have left the site.
Are there toilets on site?
Yes, there will be plenty of toilets available on site.
Are there showers on site?
No, there are no showers available on site.
Will there be baby changing facilities on site?
There will be baby changing facilities on site.
Will there be ATMs at the event?
There won’t be any ATMs on site, however all Traders, Caterers & Bars will take cards and there are that several ATMS situated near the entrance gates to the site.
Is there phone charging available on site?
There is no phone, or electronic device, charging available on site.
Are there lockers on site?
There won’t be any lockers available on site.
Will there be a buggy park on site?
There is no buggy park on site.
Will there be wheelchair access / disabled facilities?
Yes, the site will be fully accessible to wheelchairs and disabled facilities, including disabled toilets and a viewing platform at the Mirror Stage.
Am I entitled to a free carer ticket?
Disabled ticket holders are entitled to one free ticket for an essential personal assistant/carer. Proof of eligibility may be required on entry to the event.
